I Love My Job

I think it is rare in life to have a job that you really like. While the work I do is not the most exciting, the atmosphere that i get to work in every day is amazing.

I just rode up in the elevator with Bishop Burton of the Presiding Bishopric. He cracked a joke about me going across the street to obtain some contraband, a fountain drink. You need the context, to get this joke. In the church office building they don't sell any icy cold beverages of the caffeinated variety. So across the street is a neighborhood market were many church employees pay homage to obtain there diet coke.

I is rare that you get the opportunity to meet one of the Lords annointed. I get to work near them everyday, and on rare occasions I get to ride in the elevator with one of them and have him crack jokes with you about my Dr. Pepper addiction.

Awesome!

Baseball Road Trip

For those of you who are going on the baseball road trip over Memorial Day, this is a reminder that we leave two weeks from this Friday.

On the 22nd we are going to try to leave as early as possible in the afternoon. We said 3:30, but I was thinking if we could leave by 2:30 it would be a lot better, traffic wise. See what you can due to arrange your schedules as such. If you have issues with that let me know.

Also We will be returning 25th/26th depending on when we arrive in town. It is about a ten hour trip from Oakland, so you do the math. Equals late. I think of it as 6 DVD's I will be watching as Ben Drives. This time Aaron has to drive at least once, Seriously last trip 4000 miles I don't think that he drove one time. Chris drove the entire time from the back seat so he filled his quota.

Also it would be better for this trip if we did not start it off with a all night Rock Band Party, as has been the new found tradition.

I will be bringing my glove. Feel free to mock me, but we will see who has that last laugh.

Good times commence in T minus 16 days.

4th of July Tournament

I know you think that it is a little early to be discussing the 4th of July tournament, but it is less than two months away.

I have called Paul and reserved us a spot in the tournament. They have not changed the rules for eligibility of teams, as they said they might, so we don't need to recruit a bunch of guys from Perry to play with us.

They are thinking of adding a new rule about bats. The city is thinking of buying bats that all teams would have to use. They say that this will make it more fair for all teams. That is not for sure going to be put into place, but for right now hold off buying any ASA bats as they may be worthless come tournament time.

As it stands right now we should have 8 guys for the tournament. Me, Ben, Jason, Chris, Richie, Tom, Jeff and Justin. Because of the falling out with Jonny and the Boys from Brigham, we will be in need of a few more players. We have a few guys that are playing in Layton that we could ask to come play, but I would be open to suggestions. If would could add a few more guys from perry it might do us well in the PR department, while not needed, could score us some points.

The team fee will be $120. So that works out to be about $11 a piece if we have 11 guys. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
